Based in Boulder, Colorado, licensed midlife counselor and intuitive channel Kristen Brickl wanted photos that reflected her new chapter and refreshed her personal branding and website. During the planning process, a few words kept coming up: sophisticated, soft, ethereal, professional — and to feel reflective of her inner power and confidence.

We captured Kristen in her office, where she meets with clients, as well as outdoors in the surrounding neighborhood. Bringing in greenery and connecting with nature was essential, as it mirrors a key component of her teaching and practice. I absolutely love the aesthetic of a large tree — so beautiful, so old, and just imagine all the things it’s seen (does anyone else out there think about this?)

The contrast between the empowered “boss” energy and the soft, feminine presence of Mother Nature became the ethos of this shoot. Working with Kristen and being in her space was an absolute honor — she has a way of seeing you that is truly special.
