The Dixons

Nestled in the mountains, Ashley and Brad recently moved into a beautiful property in Colorado after spending their formative years in the Midwest. With a wrap around deck and large, open windows, the house feels like it is woven into the forest. They envisioned a cozy, at-home session that felt like an elevated version of their everyday life — relaxed, intentional, and saturated with warmth.

We danced, we played, and Dove’s red cowboy boots proved that a bold pop of color is always a good idea. The aesthetic felt like a Tecovas ad met a mid-century mountain home and had a baby — effortlessly stylish with a lived-in feel.

And of course, their sweet dog Nigel stole the show, making his way into more than a few frames - a true star and protector of the family. This session with the Dixons was one of the first ones I did that really made me adore shooting in people’s homes - it’s not hard to see why!
